Last updated: August 12, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Vynce collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our app. By using Vynce, you agree to the practices described below.

Information We Collect

  • Account information: Your name, email address, and campus affiliation.
  • Profile information: Profile photo, bio, and preferences you choose to add.
  • Student verification: Your .edu email address is used to verify your student status.
  • Event activity: RSVPs, ticket purchases, check-ins, and event stories you post.
  • Social data: Friends, follows, messages, and reactions within the app.
  • Payment information: Ticket and subscription payments are processed securely through Base44 Payments. We do not store your full card details.

Device Permissions & How We Use Them

Vynce requests access to the following device features to provide core functionality. Each permission is only used for the specific purpose described below.

Camera

Used to capture photos and videos directly within the app for event stories, profile pictures, and event cover images. Photos and videos are only taken when you choose to create content. Vynce never accesses your camera without your explicit action.

Photo Library

Used to let you upload existing photos and videos from your device to your profile, event stories, or event cover images. Access is only requested when you choose to upload media.

Location

Used to show nightlife events, bars, and parties happening near your campus in real-time, to display events on the live map, and to enable proximity-based event visibility. Location is only accessed while the app is in use. Your precise location is never shared with other users.

Contacts

Used to help you find and connect with friends who are also using Vynce so you can see where they are going out and plan nights together. Contact information is only accessed when you choose to find friends, and your contacts are never stored on our servers or shared with third parties.

Notifications

Used to send you push notifications about events you've RSVP'd to, new events from organizations you follow, and important account updates. Push notifications require your operating system's permission, which we request once during onboarding after you've seen the app's core value — never on first launch. You can manage or withdraw push permission in your device settings at any time.

How We Use Your Information

  • To display events, bars, and parties near your campus.
  • To verify your student status using your .edu email.
  • To process ticket purchases securely.
  • To show live crowd reports and event recommendations.
  • To connect you with friends and organizations on your campus.
  • To send notifications about events you've RSVP'd to or organizations you follow.
  • To compile anonymous, aggregated analytics for campus leaderboards and trend rankings.

Data Sharing & Third Parties

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. Your email is visible to organizations you interact with (when you RSVP, purchase tickets, or follow them). Payment processing is handled by Base44 Payments, which operates under its own secure framework. We may share aggregated, non-identifiable data with partner organizations for analytics purposes.

Data Retention & Your Rights

We retain your information for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from the Settings page, which removes your profile and associated data. Event stories expire automatically. You may request a copy of your data or request deletion by contacting us through the Help & Support section.

Children's Privacy

Vynce is intended for users 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has registered, please contact us and we will remove the account.

Age Data Collection

We collect date of birth to determine eligibility to view alcohol-related promotional content and to receive alcohol-related notifications, in line with industry self-regulatory guidelines on alcohol marketing. Date of birth is not shared with venues or third parties except in aggregate, non-identifying form (e.g., "68% of RSVPs are 21+").

Push Notifications & Your Preferences

Vynce sends push notifications to keep you informed about events and your account. Push notifications require your operating system's permission, which we request once during onboarding after you've seen the app's core value — never on first launch. You can withdraw push permission in your device settings at any time; if you do, the Notification settings screen will show that push is off at the device level and link you to your settings to re-enable it.

We group notifications into the following categories, each independently toggleable in Settings → Notifications:

  • Event reminders — a nudge before an event you've RSVP'd to starts.
  • New events from orgs you follow — when a bar, frat, or org you follow posts an event.
  • Alcohol promotions & 21+ specials — only relevant and only sent if you are 21+. Users under 21 never receive alcohol-related push, regardless of this toggle.
  • App updates & announcements — product updates and platform news.
  • Marketing & offers — promotional offers and sponsored campus blasts.

A master "Turn off all notifications" switch is also available at the top of the Notifications screen. When enabled, it stops all push except critical account-security alerts (such as password resets).

Transactional notifications tied to your own activity — RSVP confirmations, ticket purchase receipts, and event cancellation or time-change notices for events you've RSVP'd to — are not marketing. They are only governed by your OS-level push permission and the master kill switch, not the granular marketing toggles above, so that you never miss a cancelled or moved event simply because marketing categories are off. As long as push permission is on, these transactional notices may still be sent even if marketing categories are toggled off.

Every send is checked at delivery time against your OS permission, the master switch, the relevant category toggle, and (for alcohol content) your 21+ status. Failing any one check stops that notification from being sent to you. Your preference choices are also synced to our push provider as user tags so they can be applied at the segmentation layer.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification. Continued use of Vynce after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
